Make your event truly a Northwest Experience!
Incorporate authentic native decor and
performances to make it unforgettable!

The Chinook SongCatchers offer several types of
presentations depending on the needs of our clients.

Traditional Welcome  (ten minutes)
We begin with a grand entry and sing the Chief’s Welcome Song.
On stage we introduce ourselves and Welcome people to
our traditional territory in our Squamish language and in English.
We then offer a Blessing for those who traveled a great distance
to be here in Vancouver for an event.
We sing and dance Greeting of the Day.
To conclude this brief welcome we exit
the stage with the Peace Song.

Talking Stick presentation (ten minutes)
The Talking Stick is a symbol of authority to speak among many
of the tribes of the pacific Northwest Coast.
The Chinook SongCatchers perform the grand entry Chief’s
Welcome Song and carry the Talking Stick to the stage.
After a brief introduction of our group and explanation
of the Talking Stick we Bless this symbol of authority
to Speak and pass it over to a dignitary of the group
we are presenting to. We then exit with the Peace Song.
